Any full-time American Indian/Alaska Native students in the Upper Division Nursing Program for the BSN, RN – BSN students, Ph.D students and DNP students.

ASUN - Nurse Mentor Program

ASUN in collaboration with the Phoenix Area IHS nursing and the Native American Nurses Association (NANA) are happy to announce that American Indian Nurses and American Indian Nursing Students will be paired together in a mentor/mentee relationship.

If you want to request a Mentor, please fill out an Application (MS Word) and return to an ASUN Staff Member.

Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation proudly announces that the American Indian Students United for Nursing Program (ASUN) has been awarded continued funding for five additional years (September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2013).

ASUN has accounted for 19% of all degrees awarded to American Indian students at ASU since 1990.

ASUN History

in

American-Indian Students United for Nursing (ASUN) was established at the ASU College of Nursing and Health Innovation in the Fall of 1990 through a section 112 grant from Indian Health Service (IHS). The grant provides scholarships for students in the Upper Division Nursing Program (BSN Program). Every five years, ASUN is required to submit a competitive grant to continue the program.

The American Indian Students United for Nursing (ASUN) Project was established in the Fall of 1990 by a grant from the Indian Health Service (IHS).

The Purpose of ASUN is to increase the number of American Indians studying nursing at ASU and the number of nurses providing care to American Indians.
