Clinical Mentor Track ©
Ultimate Goal
This 5-day immersion program is held on the ASU campus and prepares staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse researchers and other healthcare providers, preferably in teams, to serve as leaders and mentors in changing organizational cultures through the promotion, implementation, and sustainability of EBP from administration to the bedside.
Program Objectives
Participants who attend the program will be able to return to their home institutions with:
- A strategic plan for implementing and evaluating at least one EBP project
- A description of the EBP Mentor role for their agency
- Mentor other nurses in the EBP process
- Ask the clinically relevant question
- Search for the evidence
- Critically appraise and synthesize the evidence
- Planning and implementing evidence
- Evaluating the outcomes of an EBP project
Clinical Scholar Mentors: Bachelor’s prepared staff nurses who will develop plans for practice change and EBP mentorship on their respective units.
ARCC (Advancing Research & Clinical Practice through Close Collaboration) Mentors: Master’s prepared advanced practice nurses (APNs), managers, administrators who will develop plans for system-wide change for clinical practices, service lines, units, educational departments, or other system focus.
Program Description
All attendees will have didactic and interactive experiences in mentorship techniques.
ARCC and Clinical Scholar mentors will have sessions together and in focused “hands-on” groups. There are 2 tracks with the EBP Mentorship Program. The Foundational Track is designed to prepare nurses and other healthcare professionals who have little research exposure, knowledge and skills. The Intermediate Track is designed to prepare nurses and other healthcare professionals with moderate research exposure, knowledge and skills. The faculty for the program will be available to mentor the participants throughout the week in the group sessions, by e-mail and/or by telephone in the evening.

Applicants will be selected for enrollment in the program upon review of the EBP Mentorship Application Form by the CAEP faculty. Applicants who are accepted into the program will be EBP Mentorship candidates and will be notified by e-mail. An EBP mentorship candidate packet will be sent via email to each admitted participant.
Program Fees
Please do not send fees with application.
- Individual participant: $2,500
- Participant Group of 3 or more from same agency: $2,250 each
- Fees due upon acceptance
- Fees paid after beginning of the program will incur a 10% late processing fee
