The College of Nursing and Health Innovation Graduate Education and Advanced Practice Programs includes the following degree programs:
Nursing - Graduate Degrees:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is focused on improving healthcare through facilitating a culture of best practice, and providing the additional skills necessary to develop advance practice nursing leaders for the future. Advanced practice preparation is available in a variety of nurse practitioner roles including Adult NP, Pediatric NP, Neonatal NP, Women’s Health NP, Family NP, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health NP Geriatric NP, and Child/Family Psychiatric Mental Health NP. Emphasis is placed on preparing advanced practice evidence-based mentors to assume faculty positions and positions in leadership. Three entry pathways are available for this new degree.
- Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI) program offers a futuristic, multidisciplinary, educational approach to the development of healthcare leaders who base decisions upon the best evidence available and their vision for the future. The MHI program uses a hybrid online format and is open to nursing and non-nursing students working and living at a distance. Students accepted into this program will learn new processes to develop innovative, immediate solutions to existing or potential healthcare problems in both traditional and non-traditional healthcare organizations.
- Master of Science, (MS) prepares nurses for more independent roles as community leaders and educators. MS Degrees are available for Clinical Research Management, Nurse Educator and Community Health.
- PhD in Nursing & Health Innovation (PhD) is designed for those who wish to pursue careers as leaders in health policy, nursing education and research. This degree helps address a state and national need for faculty members who are increasingly in short supply (differences between DNP and PhD).
