New grant expands community-based diabetes prevention research

Congratulations go out to a team of CHPDP faculty, staff, and community partners for receiving a grant from the National Institutes of Health!

The $3.3 million award titled “Preventing Diabetes in Latino Families” will extend health promotion and diabetes prevention to families and communities.

“We have an amazing team that continues to learn and grow together. We have been collaborating for more than 10 years across multiple funding cycles and are equally committed to advancing the science and improving community health,” said the study’s Principal Investigator and Director of CHPDP, Dr. Gabriel Shaibi.
