Arlene earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. Her Master of Arts in Psychology (with specialization in Health Psychology) was earned at Northern Arizona University. She is currently a Project Coordinator of Research for the Every Little Step Counts project. Arlene has a passion for addressing socioeconomic and ethinc disparities in chronic diseases, especially cardiovascular disease and Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (including diabetic retinopathy and vision health disparities among underserved populations). In her free time, Arlene enjoys volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Vision Clinic and APPNA-AZ Free Clinic to provide health care to those who are uninsured.
