Camp CONHI

The College of Nursing & Health Innovation looks forward to seeing you at Friendly Pines in Prescott, Arizona where you will become immersed in your CONHI community! Camp CONHI is a two-day, one-night experience for our incoming students before classes start. You will be able to meet fellow students, get tips-of-the-trade from upperclassmen, engage with faculty and staff, interact with college leadership, and have lots of fun at the same time.

You should plan to bring

This is a recommended packing list for your trip. Be sure to check the weather report when you pack.

  • Sleeping bag or sheets and blanket for bunk bed                                        
  • Pillow
  • Clothing for a one-night, two-day trip
  • T-shirts, shorts (it will be hot during the day)
  • Warm clothing (jacket, sweatshirt) for evenings. Temperatures are typically 20 degrees lower than Phoenix.
  • Rain gear (rain jacket or umbrella- thunderstorms are common in August)
  • Sneakers, hiking boots, or closed-toed shoes there will be lots of walking 
  • Flashlight
  • Hat
  • Towel/toiletries/personal supplies (you may wish to bring shower shoes)
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses
  • Lip balm
  • Medications, if necessary (including over the counter pain relievers/allergy medicines)​

Agenda

Campers will check-in for camp on Saturday August 11th and return on Sunday, August 12th in the early evening. 

  • August 10
    • Move In for Taylor Place or Casa de Oro Residents (based upon individual University Housing email communication)   
  • Camp: August 11th-12th
    • 7:15am check-in at the Downtown Phoenix campus
    • 8:30am check-in at the West campus

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I register?

We recommend registering as soon as possible. When we have reached capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and will notified via email if space has become available.

What is the weather like?
Average temperatures for the month of August, in Prescott, range from a minimum of 56 degrees to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and August tends to be the month with the most precipitation.

Will meals be provided?

Meals will be provided; please include dietary needs on your registration form (this includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten, food allergies, etc.). Snacks will also be provided but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Why should I attend camp?

Camp CONHI provides the unique opportunity for you to meet your peers, interact with upperclassmen, meet faculty, deans, and other school leaders and create lasting memories. We promise you – Camp CONHI is an essential piece of your first year experience! We expect all first year students to attend.

How do I pay for camp CONHI?

A $100 fee will be assessed to student accounts. Login to your MyASU interactive account to view and pay the fee (along with any other tuition and fees due according to the Tuition & Billing Calendar).  The Camp CONHI fee cannot be paid in advance. If a student receives financial aid, it may cover the cost. The $100 fee includes charter bus transportation, cabin lodging, meals and snacks, activities, a shirt and all camp materials.

I live near Prescott, can I drive to Camp?

Exemptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for those who live near Prescott or the surrounding area. Please send your request to campconhi@asu.edu. Include the student’s name and ASU ID number. Please make all requests at least 2 weeks in advance.

Will I receive a confirmation e-mail when I register?

You will receive an e-mail confirmation once you have successfully submitted your registration. A final email will be sent within approximately 7 days before Camp. *Please check your junk/spam folder if you did not receive your confirmation email. Common email hosts like Gmail and Yahoo will filter out emails from ASU.

I am under the age of 18, will my parent/guardian need to sign a release form?

Yes. The release form must be signed before a student can be registered for camp.

 What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be made in writing to campconhi@asu.edu by July 1. Cancellations received after July 1 will not receive a refund.
