The Leadership Taskforce for the Arizona Action Coalition has selected Arizona State University’s Dr. Lesly Kelly,PhD, RN, an assistant research professor at the College of Nursing & Health Innovation, as one of the recipients of Arizona's Nursing Leadership in Action Award. Dr. Kelly was selected for her commitment to nursing through her leadership actions extending beyond the scope of the workplace and into the local, state, and national arena.

This award serves as an important moment for nursing leadership in the state of Arizona as the Arizona Action Coalition identifies leaders who are serving to impact the Future of Nursing in Arizona. Dr. Kelly will be recognized at the Arizona Organization of Nurse Executives’ Annual Adda Alexander Conference luncheon on August 21 at the Carefree Resort and Conference Center.

Adda Alexander, a consummate nurse leader in Arizona, dedicated her 30 year career to advocating for patient safety and quality. She did this in her many nursing roles and through her participation in various nursing organizations. Adda passed away January 17, 2011 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. This conference is dedicated to her in recognition of her selfless contributions.
