Executive Fellowship in Innovation Health Leadership

Our Commitment to Leadership Excellence

The Executive Fellowship in Innovation Health Leadership (EFIHL) is a year-long, cohort-based program that exposes our Fellows to the nation’s industry leaders and develops the skills needed to accelerate their own organization’s capacity to innovate.

This unique program prepares professionals for executive leadership responsibilities that drive innovation in their organizations. World-renowned faculty provide insight into their experiences with innovation, on topics ranging from leveraging existing infrastructure to delivering affordability, ensuring Fellows are prepared to view well-known situations through a new lens. By the end of EFIHL, graduates will develop the critical-thinking skill set needed to address new care delivery approaches in their own organization, both in terms of quality and cost.

The EFIHL is offered by Arizona State University, in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Innovation: By Leaders, For Leaders

The EFIHL is proud to prepare the executive health leaders of tomorrow on a wide range of topics that must be addressed in order to successfully implement innovation. Through readings, online content, and peer-to-peer mentoring, Fellows will learn and apply the seven characteristics of innovation leadership:

Boundary spanning Risk taking Leveraging Opportunity Visioning
Adapting Facilitating Coordinating information flow

The Fellowship also includes four on-site immersions located across the country. As Fellows experience these immersions, they will not only be exposed to innovative companies and practices, but to our expert faculty and program mentors. It may be possible to apply a portion of the EFIHL experience to College of Nursing and Health Innovation degree program credit.

Fellows are responsible for the costs of travel and other out of pocket expenses associated with attendance at the four immersions (which is required).
