Learn Where You Live for partners

Build the nursing workforce  your community needs

Learn Where You Live is transforming how—and where—nursing education happens. Developed by Arizona State University's Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, this accelerated 12-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing program addresses the need for nurses in rural and underserved areas by making it possible for students to earn their BSN degrees across Arizona.

By combining the convenience of remote coursework with local, hands-on clinicals, simulation and skills labs, Learn Where You Live removes geographic barriers to education and builds a pipeline of practice-ready, community-connected nurses who are prepared to meet the needs of the health care facilities like yours—and deliver high-quality care to the patients in your community.

How it works:

As a clinical partner, your organization plays a central role in shaping the hands-on portion of students' nursing education.

Here's what that looks like:

  • Clinical experiences take place in your facility, allowing students to build familiarity with your workflows, patients and team.

  • Nurses from your organization are trained by Edson faculty to serve as nursing instructors, working alongside them to support students throughout their clinical and experiential training.

  • Your nursing leadership helps identify units and experiences that align with student learning needs and your organizational priorities.

This partnership model is designed to be collaborative and adaptable, supporting both student education and your staffing environment.

Next steps

This is more than a new format for nursing education. It’s a strategic effort to address workforce shortages, increase access to education, and create sustainable pathways into nursing, right where they’re needed most.

We’re looking to build long-term partnerships with health care organizations that share that vision.
