Communication, negotiation, management and problem-solving are just a few of the valuable skills you’ll learn by taking advantage of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation leadership opportunities. CONHI Student Leaders demonstrate leadership, academic excellence and exceptional interpersonal skills. Student Leaders have a keen interest in helping new students succeed through involvement and engagement within CONHI, ASU’s campuses and the University.
You’ll also develop an extended network of references and have positions of responsibility to take when you are ready to enter the job market. Leadership isn’t just about what goes on your resume. You’ll have fun, make friends and contribute to the CONHI community while being a mentor, ambassador, camp counselor, tutor, student council member or entrepreneurial team leader.
RCSLs and Peer Leaders support and help with the transition of residential living. They organize and attend weekly events, such as Chill ‘n’ Chats, to get students engaged within the residential community and to help them interact with fellow classmates.
All freshmen—whether living in one of our residential communities, commuting to campus, or enrolled in our online programs—are assigned a peer mentor who provides referrals to academic resources across campus, hosts events to ensure new students feel connected to the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and guides freshmen through the transition to ASU.
Camp CONHI is an innovative program that welcomes all freshmen to the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Upper-division students serve as counselors for this fun, multi-day, off-campus program. C3s help incoming students learn skills that are important to their success in CONHI through a variety of fun and interactive activities.
Student Ambassadors for Recruitment are a select group of students who support the College of Nursing and Health Innovation as representatives at recruitment events with prospective students and outreach activities. In addition to developing professional and leadership skills, as an Ambassador.
Many Nursing and Health Innovation undergraduate students are part of the unique community at Barrett, The Honors College. Honors students enjoy select opportunities to travel abroad, earn scholarships, attend special events specifically for honors students, and receive funding to travel and complete their creative projects/theses. Students have the opportunity to stretch their learning capabilities through a customized honors curriculum.
Gain practical work experience related to your major through experiential learning programs offered by our industry partners in conjunction with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation and Career and Professional Development Canter. These opportunities foster professional, personal and skill development, and are usually paid.
