Doctor of Nursing Practice - Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Grant

Introduction

The Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is excited to receive a $2.4 million Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration. The ANEW program is designed to increase the number of primary care nurse practitioners and other advanced practice registered nurses to provide primary care services, mental health and substance use disorder care, and/or maternal health care in underserved and rural communities.

This grant will provide scholarships that cover tuition, fees and books for eligible Doctor of Nursing Practice students beginning in summer/fall 2023. The next funding opportunity is available for incoming summer/fall 2024 DNP students. Interested students must apply to be considered for the grant. Funding is limited.

Ideal Grant Applicants:

  • Reside in Arizona.
  • Have applied or been admitted to the family or family psychiatric and mental health specialty for summer/fall 2024.
  • Plan to complete the DNP as a full-time student.
  • Are committed to working in medically underserved, rural or tribal communities.

 

Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Details

  • 84-85 credits
  • Approximately 3 years in length for full-time students.
  • Offered in a hybrid format, courses are delivered primarily online and students attend immersion experiences in the Phoenix metro area 2-3 times per semester.
