Faculty Associate positions (0.10 – 0.40 FTE)

The ASU Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is requesting applications from qualified candidates to fill interdisciplinary part-time, non-tenure track Faculty Associate positions. Faculty Associates are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

Faculty Associate positions will be assigned to Healthcare Innovation (HCI), Clinical Research Management (CRM), Regulatory Science (RS), Community Health, Care Coordination, Integrative Health, and Health Care Compliance programs.

Faculty Associates may support a variety of courses in the various programs' face-to-face, hybrid, or fully-online environments. Faculty associate applicants will be qualified to fill specialized teaching positions in topical areas of:

  • Health Care Innovation: Programs are offered at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels, and are focused on developing leaders of innovation, both entrepreneurs and “intrapreneurs.” The HCI programs provide students the skills and insights that enable them to foster and sustain a successful culture of innovation and improve outcomes in complex health care environments. Courses are offered online and at the Downtown and West Campuses.
  • Clinical Research Management: Program is offered at a Master’s degree level and are focused on developing clinical research professionals for management and regulatory oversight of clinical research. Courses are offered online.
  • Regulatory Science: Program is offered at a Master’s degree level and is focused on the regulatory oversight of drug and device development. Courses are offered online and at the Downtown campus.
  • Community Health: Program is offered at the Bachelor’s level and is focused on developing professionals who will work within a community setting to address health needs of diverse populations by providing advocacy, capacity building, service coordination, education, monitoring, evaluation and interventions. Courses are offered online and at the Downtown and West Campuses.
  • Care Coordination: Program is offered at the Bachelor’s level and is focused on developing coordinators who will collaborate to coordinate care for individuals. Courses are offered online and at the Downtown and West Campuses.
  • Integrative Health: Program is offered at the Bachelor’s level and is focused on using varied disciplines to provide a broad perspective on treatment. Courses are offered online and at the Downtown and West Campuses.
  • Health Care Compliance and Regulation: The HCCR program is offered at a bachelor’s degree level, and is focused on compliance oversight of health and health care entities. Courses are offered online and Downtown campus

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in a related discipline from an accredited academic institution (a graduate degree is required).
  • Three years of full-time relevant clinical / professional experience
  • Professional certification if required by discipline
  • Professional licensure if required by discipline
  • Content area expertise in one or more of the following areas: 
    • Community or public health,
    • Case management or care coordination or health care coordination,
    • Integrative health modalities (alternative /complementary or mind-body/energy)
    • Healthcare innovation
    • Clinical research
    • Regulatory science
    • Health care compliance
    • Health care ethics,
    • Health care organizations or systems,
    • Culture and health,
    • Human pathophysiology

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 years of prior teaching experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the topical area of interest
  • Earned doctoral degree
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, staff and students.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

  • Online and/or classroom instruction (Downtown and West Campuses)
