Innovation Programs (Master of Healthcare Innovation, BS Entrepreneurship & Innovation, BAS Entrepreneurship & Innovation)

Arizona State University, Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation is seeking a full time, non-tenure track, 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor to teach in the Innovation Programs offered in Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation: Master of Healthcare Innovation, Bachelors of Science in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees.  

Expectations (based on qualifications for rank):

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating and creative strategies. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analyses, evaluation and revision of courses and workshops. 
  • Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom, clinical or in an organizational setting
  • Teaches in a variety of environments, includes classroom, community/internships, innovation lab or distance/online. 
  • Teaches on multiple ASU campus sites
  • Develops, implements and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
  • Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into and teaching.
  • Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, Arizona State University, the individual as a professional, and to higher education.
  • Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university and community.
  • Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
  • Is a member of the Edson College Academic Assembly
  • Contributes to Edson 2026 Strategic Goals
  • Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation
  • Supports the Dean’s initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Holds a graduate degree from a regionally accredited school in innovation, health sciences, law, business, health management, or related field
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience in an academic, clinical, or innovation setting
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:

    • Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited school in innovation, health sciences, law, business, health management, or related field
    • Minimum of two (2) years teaching in higher education (undergraduate and graduate)
    • Minimum of two (2) years curriculum development in higher education
    • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to forge effective relationships with industry sponsors and thought leaders.
    • Strong knowledge of current issues and practices in innovation, the development, evaluation, approval of innovation proposals
    • Participation in innovation competitions (i.e. hackathon, accelerators, venture activities)
    • Experience with Venture Capital Development, proposals and funding  
    • Active contributions and service in professional organizations supporting quality, best practices, and innovation in the regulatory, clinical professions and academic programs.
