Accelerated BSN Application for Advancement
The Accelerated BSN program is open to Postbaccalaureate applicants and first-degree seeking students who meet the additional requirements:
1) a minimum of 70 credit hours completed before the program begins in fall 2023
2) must complete all general studies and awareness areas before the program begins in fall 2023 (excluding upper-division Literacy and upper-division Humanities/Social Behavioral Science).
Postbaccalaureate applicants may also want to consider applying for MS Nursing (Entry to Nursing Practice) program.
Applicants are selected for the Accelerated BSN through the competitive application process based on an advancement score. The advancement score calculation is 50% Select GPA and 50% Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) score.
Postbaccalaureate applicants are given priority placement. Additionally, postbaccalaureate applicants who have completed a degree (or will complete a degree before the Accelerated BSN begins) in the following Edson College majors and meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be given preference for up to 50% of available seats in the Accelerated BSN each cycle: Community Health, Health Care Coordination, Health Care Compliance and Regulations, Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Integrative Health.
After all eligible postbaccalaureate applicants are placed, remaining spaces (if available) will be awarded first to Edson College’s first bachelor’s degree-seeking students and then to first bachelor’s degree-seeking students.
All items on the Application for Advancement must be completed for students to be considered for advancement to the Accelerated BSN.
