Clinical Nursing Advancement Application
Advancement applications are being accepted for Summer/Fall 2024 for the Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN clinical nursing programs.
Deadline for Priority Consideration: February 1, 2024 (11:59 p.m.).
Applications that are submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed weekly based on space availability. Interested students are urged to apply if all criteria can be met before the clinical nursing program start date.

Step 1: Register for both workshops!
Prospective applicants should sign up to attend the Advancement Workshop and the Health and Safety Workshop using the link below. If you are unable to attend, there will be a recorded version provided in mid-January.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the clinical nursing program, review eligibility criteria, and ask questions!
- Monday, January 8: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
- Friday, January 12: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Health and Safety Workshop:
- Friday, January 26: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
- Monday, February 5: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Step 2: Review the applicable Advancement Guide.
First-degree applicants are students who are working towards completion of their first bachelor’s degree and will not have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution when the summer/fall 2024 clinical nursing program begins.
Postbaccalaureate applicants are students who have obtained or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from another U.S. regionally accredited institution or accredited international institution before the clinical nursing program begins in summer/fall 2024, and who are seeking to apply for a second bachelor’s degree from ASU.

Step 3: Check admission status.
You must be admitted to ASU as you will need to have an ASURITE to submit the application. For questions regarding your admission status, you may call the help center at 1-855-278-5080.
Step 4: Verify transcripts are received.
Verify that your official transcripts have been received and posted to your student file at ASU. This can be verified by viewing your DARS on My ASU. For assistance, you may schedule an advising appointment using our online appointment scheduler or by calling 602-496-0888, option 4.
Step 5: Complete the Course Information Worksheet (CIW).
Complete the Course Information Worksheet (CIW) before you begin your application. You will be required to attach it to your application. Instructions to complete the CIW are on the first tab of each excel document. Note: You will need to use Microsoft Excel to complete this document. When submitting, only .xls and .xlsx file types are accepted. To download Microsoft Office 365, visit https://myapps.asu.edu.

Use this form if you are a first degree applicant or if you are a postbaccalaureate applicant applying to the Traditional BSN.

Use this form if you are a postbaccalaureate applicant applying to the Accelerated BSN.
Step 6: Check and double-check your application.
The application must be completed in ONE attempt, and it is strongly recommended that you review your application items with an Edson College advisor prior to submission. It’s recommended that you review your worksheet with an advisor after your TEAS is complete. In addition, your CIW form must be completed before meeting with an advisor.

Step 7: Review academic integrity policy.
Failure to provide accurate information on your application will be deemed a violation of the academic integrity policy which will result in forfeiture of your application. Review the Academic Integrity Policy.
Step 8: Check email account.
You must ensure that your email account is set up properly, as this is the official channel of email communication. You may need to check your spam or junk email as our emails can be placed in those folders.

Step 10: Submit health and safety documents.
The advancement guides provide specific instructions on creating your CastleBranch account and meeting each health and safety requirement. The checklist and videos linked below are to be used as a resource to guide your next steps, but it does not replace the advancement guides.
You should only create a CastleBranch account after you submit your Clinical Nursing Advancement Application. If you are not ready to apply for the clinical nursing program, please do not create a CastleBranch account at this time.
Important Summer/Fall 2024 Health and Safety Deadlines:
- February 1, 2024: All applicants must create a CastleBranch account and add the medical document manager using the Edson College code (available in the advancement guides).
- March 1, 2024: All applicants must complete all health and safety requirements in CastleBranch with the exception of the following items: drug/alcohol screening, criminal background and statement of health clearance.
- March 15, 2024 (expected deadline, subject to change): Students selected for advancement or alternate status must complete the remaining health and safety items (i.e., drug/alcohol screening, criminal background check, and statement of health clearance.
