Clinical Nursing Advancement Application
The spring 2023 advancement deadline is September 1, 2022. Applications received past the deadline are reviewed on a space-available basis.
Read all steps before you begin your application!
Step 1: Watch the virtual advancement workshop!
Applicants should sign up to attend an Advancement Workshop using the link below. If you are unavailable to attend one of the dates below, there will be a recorded version provided in mid-August.
Register for one of the dates below:
- Tuesday, August 9 – 12 PM to 1 PM
- Thursday, August 18 – 4 PM to 5 PM
Step 2: Review advancement guide
Step 3: Complete course information worksheet
Complete the Course Information Worksheet (CIW) before you begin your application. You will be required to attach it to your application. Note: You will need to use Microsoft Excel to complete this document. When submitting, only .xls and .xlsx file types are accepted. To download Microsoft Office 365, visit https://myapps.asu.edu.
- Traditional Coursework Information Worksheet - Gold Form
Use this form if you are applying to the traditional prelicensure clinical nursing program or if you are applying to the Accelerated BSN as an Edson College first-degree seeking student.
- Accelerated BSN Coursework Information Worksheet - Maroon Form
Use this form if you are applying to the Accelerated BSN as a postbaccalaureate applicant.
Step 4: Check and double check your application!
The application must be completed in one attempt, and it is strongly recommended that you have reviewed your application items with an Edson College advisor before submission. It’s recommended that you review your worksheet after your TEAS is complete. Disclaimer: Your CIW form must be complete when meeting with an advisor.

Email your completed CIW to EdsonCollege.Advising@asu.edu.
Step 5: Check admission status
You must be admitted to ASU as you will need to have an ASURITE to submit the application. For questions regarding your admission status, you may call the help center at 1-855-278-5080.
Step 6: Check email account
You must ensure that your email account is set up properly, as this is the official channel of email communication.
Step 7: Verify Transcripts are received
Verify that your transcripts have been received and posted to your student file at ASU. This can be verified by viewing your DARS on My ASU. For assistance, you may schedule an advising appointment using our online appointment scheduler or by calling 602-496-0888, option 4.
Step 8: Review academic integrity policy
Failure to provide accurate information on your application will be deemed a violation of the academic integrity policy which will result in forfeiture of your application. Review the Academic Integrity Policy.
Step 9: Complete Clinical Nursing Advancement Application
The spring 2023 application will open approximately 1 month before the deadline. This will be around the first week of August. If you are interested in applying for the Accelerated BSN program for fall 2022 at Lake Havasu, please email EdsonCollege.Advancement@asu.edu for assistance.

Step 10: Obtain health and safety documents
Review and start obtaining documents to meet Health and Safety Requirements. Refer to the Advancement Guide (Step 2). Note: Students selected for advancement or alternate status will have a short window of time to upload their documents. Failure to submit requirements by the deadline provided may result in forfeiture of space in the program or the alternate list.
