Director of Health Care Compliance and Regulations (HCCR) Bachelor of Science Program

Under administrative direction of the Senior Director of Innovation Programs provides oversight for the following, including:

  • HCCR program operations
  • Collaboration with peers, faculty, professional associations, and community members
  • Certification, accreditation, and regulatory standards
  • Student admission, progression, retention, and graduation
  • Curriculum
  • Faculty development, evaluation, hiring, and teaching assignments to meet the goals of the college and University to meet regulatory and compliance standards

This is a Clinical Track Faculty (CTF) with an administrative appointment as the Director of the Health Care Compliance and Regulations B.S. program degree. This is a 1-year appointment eligible for renewal. This position has no tenure implications. This position requires in- person participation as a clinical track faculty member. This is not a remote teaching position. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees HCCR Program including day-to-day operations as well as long term strategies on multiple campuses and in digital format.
  • Oversees all aspects of the HCCR program, including curriculum oversight, academic course scheduling, faculty assignments, recruitment and retention of students and faculty, program evaluation, and development of new courses.
  • Collaborates with peers and Senior Director to ensure program compliance with accreditation, certification, contractual, licensure and regulatory requirements (as relevant).
  • Orients and mentors new faculty in collaboration with the Senior Director.
  • Participates in Academic Assessment Plan, Academic Program Evaluation, and Academic Program Review processes, and Accreditation
  • Participates in identification of faculty development needs
  • Participates in Faculty Evaluation and Hiring processes for Clinical Track Faculty, Instructors, and Faculty Associates within the HCCR program.
  • Collaborates with other Edson College Program Directors and the Executive Leadership team.
  • Fosters current and new community partnerships with academic, healthcare and community-based organizations
  • Collaborates with educational leaders to develop partnerships with community colleges, local industry, and other potential collaborators on behalf of the program
  • Participates in Academic Program Director meetings
  • Provides effective verbal and written communication with students, staff, faculty, and community partners
  • Represents the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation across the University, locally, and nationally
  • Participates in faculty governance of the College and the University
  • Is a member of the Edson College Academic Assembly

    Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation
  • Supports the Dean’s strategic initiatives

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating and creative strategies. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analyses, evaluation and revision of courses and workshops. 
  • Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom and clinical area.
  • Teaches in a variety of environments, which may include classroom, clinical, laboratory, or distance/online. 
  • Teaches on multiple campus sites
  • Develops, implements and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
  • Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into clinical practice and teaching.
  • Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, the individual as a professional and to higher education.
  • Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university and community.

MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS:

  • Holds a graduate degree that supports foundational expertise in health care compliance and regulations. 
  • If a licensed health care or other compliance professional, must hold a current unencumbered license or privilege to practice in Arizona.
  • Holds a certification in health care compliance through Healthcare Compliance Association, AAPC, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, or another compliance organization.
  • Has a minimum of one year of teaching experience in a higher-education institution.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Has a Ph.D., professional doctoral degree, or other terminal degree supporting the foundational understanding of health care compliance.
  • Has related administrative experience in coordinating academic programs or courses.
  • Previous management and supervisory experience.
  • Previous academic program leadership experience.
  • Previous experience in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities, logistics, and establishing priorities.
  • Previous experience in budget oversight.
  • Experience managing, supervising and evaluating faculty and staff
  • Skill in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with community partners.
