Clinical Track Faculty, Post-Licensure Nursing Program (RN-BSN, Concurrent Enrollment, and MS Nursing)

Arizona State University Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation is seeking a full time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor to teach in the Post-Licensure Nursing Programs (RN-BSN, CEP, MS Nursing). This is an Academic Year (9-month) contract.  Responsibilities are predominately online, and may include in-person didactic, and clinical practicums.

Expectations (based on qualifications for rank):

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic, stimulating and creative strategies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop critical, creative thinkers through continuous planning, analyses, evaluation and revision of courses and professional programs.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in online courses, classroom and clinical area.
  • Teaches in a variety of environments which may include: distance/online, classroom, clinical, laboratory.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
  • Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into online teaching including simulations and practice application activities.
  • Demonstrates use of evidence-based interventions in teaching, practical application of knowledge, and professional activities.
  • Demonstrates ability to mentor students and professional colleagues.
  • Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
  • Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university and community.
  • Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, the individual as a professional, and to higher education.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a graduate degree in nursing, or MS Nursing degree.
  • Holds a current unencumbered RN license or multi-state license to practice in Arizona 
  • Has at least three (3) years clinical experience as a RN
  • Has minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Holds an earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in healthcare, education, leadership, or nursing.
  • Previous teaching experience in a nursing program
  • Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic or clinical setting
  • Previous experience teaching online
  • Previous experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities
  • Participation in program or curriculum design and development
  • Certified as a nurse educator
