Under administrative direction of the Senior Director of Post-Licensure Nursing Programs, oversees the RN-BSN and CEP Nursing Programs including:

  • Accreditation, licensure and regulatory standards;
  • Student admission, progression, retention, and graduation;
  • Curriculum;
  • Clinical placements;
  • Faculty development, evaluation, hiring, and teaching assignments to meet the goals of the college and ensure program compliance and excellence.

This is a full-time fiscal year position as a Clinical Track Faculty (CTF) with an administrative appointment as the RN-BSN and CEP Program Director. This is a 1-year appointment eligible for renewal. This position has no tenure implications.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Post-Licensure Nursing Programs on all aspects of program administration and management, including budget projections

  • Collaborates with Edson College program directors 

  • Serves as an Ex Officio member of the Edson College undergraduate curriculum committee

  • Serves as an Ex Officio member of Edson College Standards committee 

  • Collaborates with Sr. Director of Post-Licensure Nursing Programs and the Associate Dean of the Academic Enterprise to ensure program compliance with accreditation, certification, contractual, licensure, and regulatory requirements (including Arizona Board of Nursing, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), applicable state licensing boards and clinical agency requirements)

  • Responsible for verification that program faculty meet state and national regulatory, licensure and certification (as applicable) requirements to teach in the nursing programs 

  • Responsible for verification that all nursing faculty hold a valid, unencumbered Arizona RN license or multi-state RN license 
     
  • Orients and mentors new faculty in collaboration with Sr. Director

  • Participates in Academic Assessment, Academic Program Evaluation, and Academic Program Review processes

  • Identifies and guides faculty development needs

  • Participates in Faculty Evaluation and Hiring processes for program Clinical Track Faculty, Instructors, and Faculty Associates.
     
  • Participates in program staff evaluations and hiring processes
     
  • Implements data collection and evaluation for the systematic plan of evaluation
     
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director for student recruitment, engagement, and retention.
     
  • Collaborates with Sr. Director and Associate Dean of the Academic Enterprise to develop and implement the Edson College strategic plan.
     
  • Fosters current and new community partnerships with academic, clinical, and community-based organizations.
     
  • Supports and participate in Edson Dean’s Strategic Initiatives
     
  • Participates in Edson 2026 Goals
     
  • Participates in Academic Program Director meetings

  • Provides effective verbal and written communication with students, staff, faculty, and community partners
     
  • Teaches courses and mentors students as determined by the Sr. Director and the Associate Dean
     
  • Fosters and maintains effective working relationships with and among students, staff, faculty, and leadership

  • Oversees students and faculty for the RN-BSN and CEP program

    • Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into clinical practice and teaching.
    • Participates in professional service through membership on elected, appointed, and voluntary committees in the college, university, community, and professional organizations that contribute to the Edson College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation, the individual as a professional and to higher education.
    • Participates in appointed and voluntary activities that contribute to the college, university and community.
    • Participates in faculty governance of the College and University.
    • Participates in the strategic plan of the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a graduate degree in nursing, or MS Nursing degree, and a Doctorate in Nursing or a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Holds a current unencumbered RN license or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona 
  • Has at least three (3) years clinical experience as a RN
  • Has one (1) year of applicable experience in coordinating academic programs, courses, clinical or internship placements or campus sites

  • Previous teaching experience in a nursing program
  • Previous experience teaching online
  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Previous academic program leadership experience
  • Previous participation in strategic planning processes
  • Skill in problem solving and decision-making
  • Previous experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities
  • Experience managing, supervising, and evaluating faculty and staff
  • Participation in program or curriculum design and development
  • Certified as a nurse educator
