Edson College welcomes new faculty

This fall, 11 new full-time faculty members joined the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. These individuals bring a wide range of experience and backgrounds to the college and join a team of dedicated educators committed to providing students with the highest quality nursing and health education.

Earl Lee, who uses they/them pronouns, stepped into the inaugural Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Officer role in 2023. Lee will also serve as a clinical assistant professor. As the DEIB Officer, Lee will work collaboratively across the college to lead and implement a strategic framework and plan for inclusive excellence and promote a culture of shared responsibility, transparency, and collaboration to coordinate efforts and initiatives. 

The college also welcomed two new tenure track faculty, Abby Gomez Morales and Julia Hammett

Assistant Professor Gomez Morales' research focuses on caregiving and dementia. She is teaching HCR 400: Evidence-Based Practice for the Health Care Professional this semester. Gomez Morales was recently featured in an ASU News story which delves into her background a bit more.

Julia Hammett is an assistant professor and licensed clinical psychologist. Hammett’s research investigates intimate partner violence (IPV) from the angle of socioeconomics. She is teaching a few courses HCR courses this semester.
