Graduate students represent Edson College at national conference
Two doctor of nursing practice students, Grace Li and Kelly Morrison, traveled to Washington, D.C. this August to represent Edson College at the 2023 Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) Conference.
“Our experience encompassed insights into assuming leadership within the realm of health care, comprehending the interplay between political and social determinants of health, grasping the essence of mentorship, and delving into the transformative influence of technology in health care,” Li said.
Both students are part of the ASU Graduate Nurses Organization. Li is the current president.

This year’s conference sessions focused on professional development, advanced nursing roles, and leadership development through the lens of addressing current and future challenges. In addition to the learning opportunities, the conference is also a great place to network with graduate students, faculty and health care leaders from around the nation.
While in D.C. Li and Morrison also had the opportunity to visit the National Institutes of Health campus and learn more about the ongoing research at NIH. Li described the experience as exceptional.

The trip was a big success with both students returning reinvigorated for the academic and professional work ahead of them this year.
“We are encouraged and motivated to become health care leaders within our community, institute, and nursing profession!” said Li.
