Simulation & Learning Resources (SLR) provides a clinical simulation experience to students and faculty in the Nursing program in addition to providing interprofessional simulation experiences to Nutrition programs and other health care practitioners. The simulation experience is a teaching technique in which students make assessments, exercise clinical decision-making skills, and provide interventions within varying levels of fidelity. Our 18,000 sq. ft. facility is equipped with state of the art technology resources, including simulation suites with patient rooms, skills labs, a health assessment lab, and a computer library commons. SLR supports hands-on skill development both in person and through the extensive online resources and video library.
For Clinical Lab opportunities, please view the available hours, or you may contact Mary Calacci to schedule one-on-one coaching. Faculty can also refer students for practice of specific skills. Note: The Simulation and Clinical Labs are not latex free but latex is minimized as possible.
The Computer Library Commons is located at Mercado F210. Students have access to the Internet, e-mail, web enhanced courses, and a variety of educational software.
