The USDA Center for Collaborative Research on WIC Nutrition Education Innovations at the USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine is funded by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. The USDA CNRC WIC Center is funding four innovative WIC nutrition education projects that required a partnership between a university-based researcher and a state or local Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). The grants are designed to test creative approaches to WIC nutrition education.

This study is focused on reviewing 39 schools in Ohio and Pennsylvania that were part of a previous research study that was conducted five years ago where a drug prevention intervention called “Keepin’ It Real” was implemented by following-up with the principals on issues of sustainability, in order to examine whether they were able to keep the program going. If so, what challenges have they encounter and, if not, what prevented them from sustaining this program?
